MCC Bucket Guides

Identification and replacement notes for Square D, Siemens, and Allen-Bradley MCC buckets, plus remote-VFD feeder guidance.

Guide Index

Start With The Installed MCC Line

An MCC bucket is not interchangeable simply because its voltage, amperage, or bucket height looks right. The lineup manufacturer and model determine the stab arrangement, disconnect mechanism, unit mounting, door hardware, bus engagement, and available space. Start with the equipment nameplate, then compare the physical details shown in the appropriate guide.

Use the four equipment-line guides to compare production era, identifying hardware, common unit sizes, electrical ratings, and replacement constraints. The VFD feeder guide instead follows the feeder-to-drive power path and the inputs used to plan a remote-drive conversion. None of these pages is a project-specific fit approval. Current manufacturer documentation, the equipment nameplate, available fault current, and site requirements control final selection.

A guide can narrow the equipment family, but it cannot confirm fit from a model name alone. Units within the same line can differ in bucket height, disconnect type, ampere rating, interrupting rating, starter size, control voltage, pilot devices, and auxiliary contacts. Record those details from the installed bucket and project documentation rather than copying a configuration from a similar-looking unit.

Before Requesting A Replacement

Record the manufacturer and lineup model, then take exterior photos of the section nameplate, bucket front, and operator.

Electrical safety: Only a qualified person following the site's electrical-safety procedure should open or remove equipment. Photograph internal components or rear stabs only after the bucket is removed from service and verified de-energized.

Include voltage, amperage, circuit function, interrupting rating, bucket height, and any control requirements visible on the existing unit. If the model is uncertain, use the bucket identification guide or send the photos and nameplate information to sales@mccdepot.com.
